Chief Strategy Officer, Baguio Green Group

Ron Chow is the Chief Strategy Officer of Baguio Green Group (1397.HK) (“Baguio”), the largest environmental and recycling group in Hong Kong with around 10,000 employees. He is responsible for strategy, innovation, development of sustainability & circular economy offerings, M&A, partnership, investment & corporate development.

Ron has successfully led numerous sustainability, recycling, and green technology projects for the HKSAR Government (‘Government’), contributing significantly to the sustainable development. Ron spearheads Baguio’s green technology business by providing a range of innovative solutions to the Government. His team successfully developed Smart Recycling Machines and a big data platform, making them a key supplier to the Government, with their machines widely deployed across the city. Furthermore, their Smart Food Waste Machines are designed to aid the Government in significantly increasing food waste collection in Hong Kong.

Under Ron’s leadership, Baguio also secured a project utilizing AI technology to help the Government calculate people flow and improve the service in over 800 public toilets in Hong Kong. Ron plays a crucial role to introduce a bioconversion method to address the chicken waste problem (and potentially the food waste problem) in Hong Kong, and generate protein for animal feed production.

Ron has assisted various start-ups and innovative ventures to open the door to the Government. He mentors several start-ups and is a frequent speaker at various innovation forums.

Ron is a graduate of the University of Hong Kong with a First Class Honours degree in Information Systems. He also holds CFA and CESGA qualifications. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s degree in the global Sustainability Leadership program at the University of Cambridge, UK.
